• Evaluate the uterine cavity when natural pregnancy fails or after unsuccessful attempts at artificial insemination or IVF.
2. IVF failure
• Checking for any abnormalities or infections that prevent successful embryo implantation.
3. Recurrent miscarriage or repeated miscarriages

How is hysteroscopy performed?

It can be local or general anesthesia, depending on the case.

The hysteroscope is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity.

The following can be seen:
• Adhesions
• Small fibroids inside the uterus
• Polyps
• Congenital abnormalities (such as a uterine septum)

• Removal of small fibroids or polyps
• Cutting of the uterine septum
• Removal of internal adhesions

Usually 15–60 minutes, depending on the case

Advantages of hysteroscopy

High diagnostic accuracy compared to ultrasound or X-rays.
Treatment can be performed directly without the need for major surgery.
Less pain and quick recovery.
Quick return to normal life, often within a day.
Increased chances of pregnancy after removing the causes of infertility or recurrent miscarriage.

After the procedure

Women may experience mild pain or cramping for a few days.
Daily activities can be resumed quickly.
If tumors or a uterine septum have been removed, it is often recommended to wait 2–3 months before trying to conceive.

Results of hysteroscopy

Improved chances of natural conception or IVF success after problems have been removed.
Reduces the risk of recurrent miscarriage if adhesions or a septum are treated.
Detects hidden problems that may not show up on X-rays or ultrasound.

FAQs About The Service

There are many questions about the service, we have selected frequently asked questions about this service. If you do not see your answer, please contact us.

Is treatment expensive?
Treatment can be more expensive than other simpler methods, but not all couples need IVF straight away; doctors always try to choose the most suitable and least expensive methods first, if possible.
Can I exercise during treatment?
You can often continue with light activities, but it is best to avoid strenuous exercise or intense sports during the stimulation period or after embryo transfer, as directed by your doctor.
Could I be eligible for intrauterine insemination (IUI) before IVF?
Yes. In some cases where fertility is not completely impaired, intrauterine insemination (IUI) may be the first treatment option before moving on to IVF if it is unsuccessful.
When can I take a pregnancy test after embryo transfer?
A blood pregnancy test is usually performed about 10-14 days after embryo transfer to confirm pregnancy.
